I have never had better Baby Lamb Chops! This is one of the best restaurants in Ormond and Daytona Beach. They make every meal from scratch. Only the best fresh ingredients. A little hard to find at the end of a strip shopping center at the intersection of Nova & Granada - behind Walgreens and the auto store. Also a great wine bar!

Nice and cozy place. Food was good. We ordered seafood scampi and lasagna. The lasagna was fine and the scampi was very good. For dessert, we ordered tiramisu. It came in generous portion. Taste was good. Overall, would come back and visit here again.

Stopped at this gem on our last night in Ormond Beach and wished we found it earlier. Everything on the menu sounded great and the items we did order were delicious. I had the Mussels and the Lamb chops and both were some of the best food I've ever eaten. We have been to Spain and eaten at nice restaurants and were not disappointed at all with this great little place.

Food was great very delicious apps garlic mushrooms, meatballs, and crab stuffed tomatoes. But the star was the saganaki flaming cheese! Greek salad was chilled perfectly dresses and entrees were balanced and homemade pasta in one. The wine was exceptional and our waiter was very attentive. I will definitely be back soon.

HANDS DOWN, BEST RESTAURANT IN ORMOND AND DAYTONA BEACH!! If you search for the best restaurant anywhere in daytona or ormond beach, your going to get a place Italian called THE CELLAR, We have been to the cellar, being from New York ( a place known for its Italian cuisine) we were extremely disappointed. Overpriced and portions were to small. Maybe this is good Florida Italian food but if so, I feel bad for you.... NOW if you search a little harder you will find BLAU. A Nice sized place at the end of a strip mall. The place has a "hipster yuppie" feel to it, even with the waiter/waitresses who might I add really know there stuff. Our waiter Bryce knew the menu like the back of his hand. EVERYTHING down to the mayonnaise is HOME-MADE, and the portions are huge! we ordered the Blau burger, veal, chicken panini, calamari, pazette and sirloin shoulders. Everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection. My one problem ( because everything is home made) they didn't have everything in stock, for example we ordered gnocchi but they were out and also one of the desserts but it was no big deal because with the way our meals were cooked, I can 100% guarantee everything on the menu is worth trying. + Big portions + excellent service + AMAZING food + great desserts + All home made - some entrées not available just a side note, the menu on yelp isn't updated, they no longer have the scallops.

Went last night for dinner with my wife. Ambiance and service from our waitress were great. So was the Ruta22 bottle of wine for $25. I had the veal parm... It was above average, but not quite great. My wife had the Blau Burger which she thoroughly enjoyed. We also split the penne carbonara (as an app) and churros (as a dessert.) The churros were fantastic and the penne was okay (no real complaints, just not blown away either.) I'd like to go back during happy hour and try some different things.

Just moved to this area of Ormond Beach last week and noticed this restaurant. Walked in and was pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere and ambience. It has a very edgy look for Ormond Beach... The Blau Burger was amazing! The beef was tender and juicy and the caramelized onions and mushrooms added lots of flavor. The hand cut and seasoned fries were cooked just right and delicious! Will definitely be back

Every member of our party of 7 enjoyed their meals! I had the Balsamic Glazed Salmon, which was absolutely delicious and well prepared. There is something for everyone on the menu and the prices are reasonable. We also had desserts and appetizers. The hummus was so tasty...I think I could just eat a bowl of it! Also, the atmosphere is pretty swanky. Give them a try!

Saganaki and pita was great. Service good. Entrees, not above par. The special was sold as filet. Maybe 4 oz of meat ... That was cold. Never knew I was getting pasta with it; otherwise, I would've ordered something else. This experience could be due to a new waitress, she told us this was her 2nd day on the job. This spot was highly recommended.

Great service, food and wine selection. The tenderloin and calamari are awesome. Perfect for anything from casual dining to entertaining clients. Will be back for sure.

I cannot believe this trendy hip restaurant with food to die for has already been here 9 months and I didn't know it!? The small portions are not small at all and the prices are extremely reasonable. I loved my Atlantic salad (and they'll prepare it how you like) and Wild Mushroom soup. My bf devoured his crepes and calamari. He'd thought he'd ordered a pizza but forgot (but we were so full it was ok!) We just wish we'd saved room for dessert. Definitely will be back and SO THANKFUL something like this has opened in Ormond Beach. We needed these guys. I felt like I was in our hometown of Chicago or New York instead of Central Florida ;)

Glad they finally opened and we finally made it in. Will not be long before we return! Great service, good wine list, very nice house wine, great atmosphere... Nice to have palace of this caliber so close. One to think of it, I'm getting hungry; think I'll head to Blau!

I have been twice since they recently opened and plan to go again. My wife loves the chicken milanesse that is wonderfully done. I had the caresses pizzette that was great. There 1805 merlot is my pick there for a nice red with dinner. I brought another family and there small kids had fun with the crayons on the table covered with paper as well. Nice Ambiance and a fun place to go.

Excellent food and service. Among the best in the area. Very unique choices and varied menu with great atmosphere. The management was excellent in handling all of our issues. The only reason they get 4 stars rather than 5 is because they were out of a few of the items we wanted, granted it was a Monday and the management was very apologetic. Overall, easily in the top five restaurants in the Daytona Beach area.

Very disappointed with the service and the food. I have the blau burger and I didn't think it was good at all. I contemplated many options but the portions were too small for me and the prices were very high. After telling the waitress how I didn't like my burger she just said "I'm sorry" and that was it. Didn't offer to fix the issue at all. The coleslaw also was subpar, I've always been a fan of coleslaw but this one didn't meet the cut. Some of you may say just another angry customer but I truly think for the prices service should be better. I will not be returning to this restaurant.

Trendy little find in Ormond Beach. Really enjoy the atmosphere and the service is really friendly. Could not believe the happy hour special. Three HUGE appetizers for only $15. All really tasty, especially the lemon hummus. It's for real lemon flavor, and I actually enjoyed this twist on hummus. Cool place for fun times.

Been once for early bird dinner which turned into happy Hour:) Second time took my mom because she loves lamb and she was impressed with the flavors and wants to come back for the salad I had but with lamb of course! Delish was her exact word !! We shall be going back soon she said," I'm going to try every lamb dish !"

Great happy hour appetizer specials for a Sunday. We tried 4 different dishes. All of them tatsted great but the star of the show I think was the mushrooms and the Spanish meatballs. Waiter treated us great and answered all our questions. The menu is unique and fresh. I would definitely come back to try a few more things. Only down side, even the waiter mentioned this, they don't have a liquor license so all you can get is beer and wine. But for the atmosphere that you are in you don't need the hard stuff. A glass of wine will do. I don't know how well they do considering the neighborhood that they are in. I just don't see a lot of people in this area going to get tapas.

This place looks like a trendy restaurant, and to be fair we got some saganaki that was pretty good. Several menu items looked very tasty. The staff was friendly. They have Pepsi products instead of coke, which I also like. Unfortunately, my wife was brought a bottle of water with the seal broken twice (not to accuse the restaurant of anything nefarious) before she was finally given a bottle with the seal intact. The bowl she was given was also not entirely clean. The service was a bit slow. With regards to the rest of the food, she had the penne carbonara, which wasn't really a carbonara but was ok. I had the veal parmigiana, which had an alright quality breaded veal served over severely overcooked pasta, in what could have been canned tomato paste. Not great. We only come to Florida really once a year for a week or so, so I don't know how long this has been here. It looks new, so there's maybe still hope that they will get these issues sorted out.

If you are looking for a great atmosphere, good wine, and an amazing "out of the box" culinary experience, you can find it at Blau. The calamari and the salmon are my favorite, but everything I have tried from scallops, mussels, fondue, and mushrooms, to name a few, have been delicious. Everything is made from scratch which means that the flavors of the food are multidimensional and different from what you would find in "grills" in the area, no mayo out of the jar here! The atmosphere is upbeat and modern without being overwhelming or loud. Overall a very satisfying and relaxing dining experience for the foodies in town, not just fast dinner.

Nice, varied menu. Food was very tasty -- had the lamb Gyro; ate half and finished the remainder the next day -- even more flavorful!! The humus and bruschetta were fantastic; especially the bruschetta. My husband had a burger while my son had the bison version of the burger. Both said they enjoyed their meals. Between the Gyro and trying the appetizers I was too full to order a dessert. However, the offerings looked interesting. Will need to leave room on a return visit or take one to go. This was my first visit and I definitely plan to eat there again!!

It's easy to see why Blau has so many good reviews - the place perfectly meshes style and substance into a great dining experience. Don't let the unassuming strip - mall location fool you; once you walk through the restaurant's doors you'll be treated to an upscale - yet - casual dining experience - from the engaging and knowlegable servers to the butcher paper and crayons on the table (the staff has several customer - created masterpieces hanging in the back) to the funky salt shakers and glasses. Be sure to try some of their herbal tea and tapas - the portions are generous, so you won't have to order a lot to fill up!

One of Ormond's few true gourmet restaurants. Most foods are made from scratch, nothing frozen here. You will not leave unsatisfied.

  • Ed F.

My wife and I ate there last night for the first time based on Yelp reviews. We were very impressed. The atmosphere was wonderful, the service was excellent, and the food was fantastic. The only flaw was that the window shade at our table was broken and the setting sun shown directly in my face (there was no adjusting it because the mount at the top had broken free from the ceiling). Thus is not a deterrent as we will gladly return to this establishment.

First visit here and disappointed. Went with a group maybe too much for them to handle at one time. Ordered the mushroom crepes, very small portion, bland and cold. Didn't have time to wait on heating up or redoing order. One friend had burger ordered med/well, came out rare, sent back and it was cooked more to her liking, but original fries cams e out with the order. Reheated fries! Really! First and last visit

Third trip to Blau. Like others said do not let the strip mall location sway you!! Had a FANTASTIC dinner here. We had the seafood scampi entree and salmon dish....both were excellent! But the seafood scampi was a 10/10 dish. Top notch and price very fairly for the quality. Overall classy but still Florida casual atmosphere, and great wine selection. Def going back for happy hour and tapas. Total gem for the Ormond restaurant lineup and a must go!

Great tapas and wine in Ormond Beach. Service was good but a bit slow on a busy week night. Food was well prepared and thought out. Caution: this is a place for the tapas, fish and pasta dishes, etc. and not a caesar salad (way too dull.) Great local spot with a good vibe.

Finally a cool, modern, and amazing dining experience in Ormond Beach. Since Blau opened my family has frequented here and we can't get enough. The prices are a little higher, so we always make sure to go between 5-7 so we can do 3 for $15 certain appetizers ( you must try the mussels). We also love the playfulness of the paper tablecloths and crayons provided. Everything about this place is great, from the homemade sauces to the waiting staff.

  • Alexandra F.

I love the food at this restaurant! The gnocchi sauce is amazing, love the mediterranean salad, the burgers are tasty, and the scallop dish is fantastic. I think it's a bit over-priced for the portions and the fact that it's in a strip mall, but it's decent and not like what you'd think you'd find in town.

Blau....more like blah. My boyfriend and I were staying the weekend in ormond beach and the reviews were all good. I should have known something was up when we walked in to an empty restaurant. The menu was all over the place. They have tapas, pizettes (?), pasta, random Italian dishes. We were torn between the 3-for-$15 tapas and just ordering an entree. Our waitress could see this and although she may have just been trying to help, she kept coming over to ask if we were ready. Feeling pressured, we put in one order of the sautéed mushrooms, which were very flavorful but we wish we had bread for the sauce. Shortly after, we finally decided to go with the tapas special only to be told we "couldn't" because the waitress would have to "push a different button". Ummm...ok? Never have I been told "no" for such a thing. Obviously we went with ordering entrees. I had a forgettable chicken dish with sauce that was composed of straight-up olive oil and lemon juice. My boyfriend had beef tips with gnocchi. He said the beef was very over-cooked and tough, and the gnocchi was mushy. Oh, not sure who was the manager this night, but our view consisted of a worker rolling out garbage bins smoking a joint. The servers could also use some up-training.

Great food. Creative presentation. Great service. That's all you need right? We keep coming back--Blau burger is downright sinful.

Found this to be an elegant bistro with a nice diversity of tapas, beer and wine, plus assorted entrees. Great hummus, and Lamb Lollypops were awesome! Quality service.

Dinner for 2 was $74 came with 2 entrées, 1 soup, side order of pasta, 1 dessert, 1 sweet tea and 1 sangria.. I don't know about you but that's a bit on the high end side and the food wasn't even that great. Shrimp was chewy and still had tail on it. Dessert was overally chocolatey. We will not be coming back.

Delicious food. Great service. We left our compliments to the chef. The food was well prepared and fresh. The wine was not the best, but that's mostly the Argentine's fault.

I went here for the first time over the weekend and didn't know anything about it, except that my cousins enjoyed this restaurant. The inside was cute and had a good ambiance to it. Although this place was empty, aside from one other table that was occupied. I would have thought it'd be more busy on a Saturday afternoon. I had the pasta carbonara as my meal with a side caesar salad. I was not a fan of the caesar dressing, it was a bit bland for my taste. The pasta was decent, but I don't think I would order it again. The chicken wasn't that great and neither was the sauce. It was a bit too heavy for a carbonara. My cousins seemed to enjoy their food though. One had a burger with mozarella cheese and french fries and the other had a crepe of some sort. Both looked good, but I did not try either. I don't think I will personally be going back here when I'm visiting Ormond Beach.

Had a real nice dinner here. Waiter started some cheese on fire for us, cool. Everything tasted great. Real nice atmosphere. Great place for a date. Maybe you'll get lucky. Get her some wine.

Stopped by for lunch for the first time today. Nice varied menu. We had lamb on the panini and entree. Both were delicious. The iced teas are amazing. Definitely will go back

Great food and service! I had the penne a la carbonara, which was a good change since no italian restaurant in the area seems to make that. Atmosphere was great as well. I noticed they have happy hour during the week, 3 tapas for $15 and drink specials, I'll be sure to go back after work sometime.

My husband and I eat here regularly and for us their hummus and chocolate mousse are both always a MUST! This is a great date night location or place to meet friends for wine and tapas.

Second visit to this oasis and it was consistent with the first visit. Service is attentive, food is delicious and presentation is phenomenal! One of the dishes we tried this time was the Grilled Chicken Panini. It came with roasted yellow pepper, sautéed Merlot onions, avocado, Jarlsberg cheese and Dijon mustard. The combination of flavors that the chef came up with is amazing; every bite is just full of flavor, what a combination! The sautéed Merlot onions also appeared on the Blau Blend Burger. The burger itself was really the juiciest I've ever seen and cooked to perfection as requested. These onions add a lot of flavor that further enhance the tasty burger. This trip we added a dessert to the experience. We ordered the Crepe with Nutella. Again a beautiful presentation and it was deeeelicious! Two warm crepes filled with Nutella, a scoop of chocolate ice cream, whipped cream; what's not to love about this? Have to go for the five star rating after two visits because I can't see anything going wrong at Blau Mediterranean.

The ambience in this place is beautiful! I went with two friends, it was kind of dead when we went so the service was prompt. They were out of mussels so that was disappointing. But I ordered the lamb dinner...it was DELICIOUS! I will definitely visit here again! I would say skip the crepes...they were not soft, and just not very good. But the entrees were delicious.

  • Chris D.

I had the bison burger , it was very good . The place is cool , for me the bar chairs and foot rest were a little awkward also the tv in the bar was more like a picture that changed color. I guess i didn't see the artisan take on it. Definitely worth a second try and explore the other dishes

  • Ryan Z.

This place is pretty good. A friend took me here for tapas - which I did not have. But the seafood is pretty on point. I had the seafood Paella that wasn't a paella and was more a pasta - and I was pleasantly surprised. I would eat here again and again until my blood thinned from all the mercury and iodine I would have ingested.

Boy has the Daytona area come a long way! Any time a restaurant tries to blend cuisines, it's almost always a disaster. Blau proves the opposite. As a self-anointed foodie I can attest to the saganski, steak skewer, flat breads and chicken Milanese, to name a few.all were uniformly excellent and the portions ample. Wine selection also reasonably priced and enough diversity. A definite find.

19.97 before tip, for a burger and an unsweeted ice-tea!!! The unsweetened ice tea was around 5.85 (and you will not find beverages listed online pdf menu) hate to leave a two star review but that's gouging OVERPRICED, not dropping by again, you got me once

My wife's favorite place in Ormond. Have to admit, I like their burgers as much as any I've ever had. Service is always great, atmosphere is great, food is always seriously great. We make at least one visit on each trip to our place here. AAA+

We had the best dinner here ! I think this is the best restaurant in Ormond beach area . We ordered several tapas and everything was delicious . Reasonably price and great ambiance . Will come back again .

Excellent flavors, fresh, quality, and well-balanced eats. The prices made me cringe at first glimpse of the menu this being my first time here. Fortunately, this wasn't your ordinary tapas! Will be back...

I went there last weekend with my USTA tennis team. The food and the service was excellent. The calamari was top-notch! five stars. The bruschetta, hummus, and beef skewers were all great appetizers also. I would come back here in a heart beat. The manager even came over to ask us how everything was. That is always impressive to me.
